Job Overview
UNFPA is seeking a dedicated Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (PME) Analyst to support programme and project monitoring and evaluation activities at the state level. The PME Analyst will ensure timely and quality reporting, data management, and implementation of monitoring frameworks in line with UNFPA’s strategic guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Monitoring & Evaluation
- Assist in the development and execution of annual work plans with a focus on monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Support the preparation and implementation of M&E plans to assess qualitative and quantitative programme outcomes.
- Coordinate with Implementing Partners and programme teams to monitor project activities effectively.
- Ensure proper scheduling and assignment of monitoring responsibilities.
- Collect and analyze monitoring data to track programme performance.
- Maintain and update the PM&E information system.
2. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Support data management and provide insights to enhance programme effectiveness.
- Analyze performance indicators and report progress against targets.
- Develop and implement improved M&E methodologies.
- Review and draft mandatory project and programme reports.
- Contribute to programme evaluations and impact assessments.
3. Capacity Building & Knowledge Sharing
- Facilitate training sessions on M&E for UNFPA personnel and implementing partners.
- Share M&E findings and best practices with stakeholders.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing networks and advocacy efforts.
4. Additional Responsibilities
- Engage with communities and promote volunteerism through UN Volunteer initiatives.
- Participate in UNV knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to UN publications.
- Support the UNV Buddy Programme and encourage online volunteering initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Requirement: 18 – 80 years
- Nationality: Must be an Indian national or legal resident
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Population Sciences, Social Work, Business Management, or a related Social Science field.
- A Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, or Health Management is desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in programme monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis.
- Languages:
- English: Fluent (Required)
- Hindi: Working Knowledge (Desirable)

- Proficiency in MS Office, SPSS, and data management software
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel for project monitoring and evaluations
- Strong commitment to professional integrity, teamwork, and respect for diversity
Living Conditions & Additional Information
Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is a well-connected city with a blend of modern infrastructure and cultural heritage. It has a humid subtropical climate with defined seasons and adequate public amenities. The selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living arrangements.

- Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): INR 64,961.50 per month
- Entry Lump Sum (One-time): USD 400 (equivalent in INR)
- Exit Allowance: INR 5,413.46 per month served (paid upon contract completion)
