The Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) is a regional organization established in 1992, dedicated to empowering Indigenous Peoples across Asia. AIPP works towards securing Indigenous rights, preserving distinct cultures, and advocating for self-determination. With 46 member organizations from 14 countries, AIPP fosters solidarity and cooperation to promote Indigenous movements and sustainable resource management.
Role Overview
AIPP seeks a highly motivated Programme Coordinator for the Indigenous Women Programme to lead initiatives focused on empowering Indigenous women, strengthening their rights, and promoting gender equality. The successful candidate will play a key role in advocacy, project management, fundraising, and policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management
- Lead the Indigenous Women Programme in alignment with AIPP’s 2025-2028 strategic plan.
- Develop and implement annual work plans and activities.
- Manage and supervise programme staff, consultants, and interns.
- Ensure compliance with AIPP’s Gender Justice Policy and Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) policy.
- Coordinate programme monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Facilitate inter-programme collaboration within AIPP.
Project & Finance Management
- Oversee project implementation and capacity-building efforts.
- Ensure timely submission of financial and narrative reports.
- Manage programme budgets and funding allocations.
- Support finance staff in audits and compliance monitoring.
- Lead fundraising efforts and strengthen donor relationships.
Human Resources & Capacity Building
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of programme staff.
- Support the development of staff key performance indicators.
- Coordinate with HR for managing interns, volunteers, and fellows.
Networking & Advocacy
- Represent AIPP in Indigenous and women’s rights forums and advocacy platforms.
- Strengthen networks with Indigenous women organizations, donors, and allies.
- Support Indigenous women’s meaningful participation in decision-making spaces.
- Lead gender audits and assessments within AIPP and partner organizations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Gender & Development Studies, Sociology, Rural Development, or related fields.
- A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in programme management, fundraising, and advocacy.
- Proven track record in gender and Indigenous Peoples’ rights work.
- Experience working with Indigenous Peoples’ organizations, government agencies, and NGOs.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.
- Ability to work in multi-ethnic and diverse environments.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel across Asia and internationally when required.
Remuneration & Benefits
