The Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI) at CIVICUS is dedicated to strengthening civil society by supporting regional partnerships. We are looking for a highly skilled consultant to conduct an on-site capacity assessment of a Regional Support Mechanism Partner in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Job Overview
As a Regional Mechanism Capacity Assessment Consultant, you will evaluate the financial systems, grant management processes, and operational efficiency of a key partner organization. Your role will involve identifying strengths and areas for improvement, providing actionable recommendations to enhance program implementation, and ensuring sustainable governance structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive institutional assessment of the partner’s financial and operational systems.
- Analyze grant management processes and identify areas for optimization.
- Assess risk management frameworks and governance structures within civil society organizations.
- Provide strategic recommendations to enhance regional support mechanisms.
- Prepare an in-depth assessment report with actionable insights for program improvement.
- Engage with key stakeholders in Cape Town and Johannesburg during the on-site evaluation phase.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Expertise in institutional assessments & capacity evaluations for large nonprofit organizations.
- Strong knowledge of financial, risk management, and governance structures in civil society.
- Familiarity with the political and digital landscape of Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Experience in nonprofit financial management, human resources, and compliance audits.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
