About LGT Venture Philanthropy

LGT Venture Philanthropy (LGT VP) is an independent charitable foundation established in 2007, with teams operating in Switzerland, Sub-Saharan Africa, and India. The foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for disadvantaged individuals, promoting sustainable ecosystems, and fostering resilient and inclusive communities. Founded by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein, LGT VP supports locally rooted organizations that provide scalable, effective solutions to pressing social and environmental challenges.

Focusing on key areas such as health, education, and the environment, LGT VP contributes directly to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The foundation provides long-term partnerships, flexible multi-year funding, and strategic support to catalyze collaboration and maximize collective impact. Since its inception, LGT VP has invested $109 million in 73 high-impact organizations, improving the lives of nine million people worldwide.

About the LGT Impact Fellowship

The LGT Impact Fellowship offers experienced professionals the chance to leverage their expertise in a meaningful way by working with leading social enterprises and non-profit organizations worldwide. This 12-month, full-time program embeds Fellows within organizations supported by LGT Venture Philanthropy and Lightrock, with the goal of strengthening their capacity and expanding their impact.

Throughout the Fellowship, participants engage directly with local teams and stakeholders while accessing a global network of peers and experts. The program is designed to provide hands-on experience, equipping Fellows with valuable insights and skills for a purpose-driven career beyond the Fellowship.

Key Responsibilities

Fellows play a vital role in advancing the mission of LGT VP’s portfolio organizations. Their responsibilities include:

  • Applying professional expertise to enhance organizational capacity.
  • Developing and implementing efficient systems, tools, and processes.
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices from the private sector.
  • Training and coaching local teams to ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Supporting long-term sustainability by integrating succession planning.

Who Should Apply?

LGT VP seeks dedicated professionals with the skills and passion to create sustainable impact. To be eligible for the Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A bachelor’s degree (advanced degrees such as an MBA are preferred).
  • At least two years of full-time work experience post-graduation.
  • Proficiency in English (additional language skills are beneficial).

Successful Fellows typically demonstrate:

  • A proactive, self-starting attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Strong commitment to social impact and willingness to make personal sacrifices.
  • Understanding of challenges in low- to middle-income countries.
  • Adaptability to diverse cultures and environments.
  • Flexibility and resilience in dynamic settings.

Application Process

Applications are reviewed following the closing date on March 30. Shortlisted candidates undergo 2-3 rounds of interviews throughout April and May. Final selections are expected by the end of May, with successful Fellows beginning their 12-month placements around July.

All selected Fellows will participate in a kick-off workshop in Kenya in July/August to prepare for their roles.
