About the Peepul Fellowship
The Peepul Fellowship is a two-year program (with the second year being optional) designed for individuals passionate about education. It provides intensive training, coaching, mentorship, and real-world teaching experience to equip fellows with the skills required to drive meaningful change in classrooms.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to individuals 21 years and above, from all professional backgrounds.
- Strong commitment to education, humility, and eagerness to learn.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English is mandatory.
- No prior teaching experience is required – just a passion for making a difference!
Selection Process
The Peepul Fellowship follows a rigorous yet rewarding selection process:
- Application Screening – Review of CVs and cover letters.
- Telephonic Interview – Initial interaction to understand motivation and fit.
- Aptitude Test & Facilitation Round – Assessment of problem-solving and communication skills.
- Final Interview – In-depth discussion with Peepul’s selection panel.
The Fellowship Journey
The Peepul Fellowship is designed as an enriching, structured experience that ensures maximum impact. Fellows will undergo:
- Induction & Training (May-June) – Community visits, pedagogy training, and classroom simulations.
- School Immersion – Observing best practices and co-teaching with experienced educators.
- Active Teaching & Mentorship – Taking independent classes with continuous support.
- Mid-Year Evaluation – Assessing progress and exploring future career pathways.
- Fellowship Completion & Transition – Fellows can continue in schools or move into Peepul’s program teams.
Year 2 Opportunities
After Year 1, fellows can choose between two tracks:
- Continue in Schools – Strengthen classroom expertise.
- Join Peepul’s Program Teams – Work in curriculum design, teacher training, or policy implementation.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What will my work week look like?
Fellows will engage in classroom activities, lesson planning, professional development, and collaboration with school faculty. School hours are 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday to Saturday (excluding the second Saturday).
2. Does Peepul provide a stipend?
Yes, fellows receive a monthly stipend for financial support throughout the program.
3. Is there health insurance coverage?
Yes, Peepul provides comprehensive health insurance along with a Mental Wellness Benefit, offering 12 virtual therapy sessions through our partnership with Amaha.
4. What happens at the end of the Fellowship?
Fellows can transition into long-term Peepul roles, apply their skills elsewhere, or continue as educators within our partner schools.
5. Can I complete the Fellowship while pursuing a degree?
Due to the Fellowship’s full-time commitment, pursuing a degree alongside may be challenging. However, exceptions can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
6. Can I transition into Peepul’s program teams in Year 2?
Yes! Fellows who successfully complete Year 1 can transition into curriculum development, teacher training, and policy implementation roles. The selection process includes an expression of interest, performance assessment, and interviews.
7. What happens if a fellow leaves before completing a year?
Fellows are expected to complete the full duration of the program. Early exits may require repayment of associated costs as per Peepul’s policy.
